Hogle Zoo
This exhibit offers a closer look at animals people typically find “scary.” By examining why people find these critters frightening, this exhibit will explain how these animals are actually beneficial to the environment and show that they’re not so bad after all. This exhibit will be housed in Hogle Zoo’s Tropical Gardens building, which previously featured exhibits like Ghost of the Bayou and Madagascar!
Nature’s Nightmares features the following “frightening” fiends:
King vultures
Free-flying straw colored fruit bats
Norway rats
Mosquito larvae
Leeches
Red-bellied piranha
Emperor scorpions
Skunk
Dung beetles
Giant Vietnamese Centipedes
Goliath bird-eater spider
Vinegaroon
