With a beautiful array of ethnic costumes, the International Folk Dance Ensemble presents a concert program of dances from more than a dozen nations, including Ukraine, Russia, Korea, Poland, Mexico, and the United States. Since 1964 the ensemble has represented the United States and American culture at folk dance festivals throughout the world, including the festival held in conjunction with the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the festivals in Haifa, Israel; Confolens, France; and Billingham, England. In addition, the group regularly presents its international repertoire throughout the United States and Canada. Regardless of focus--international or American--the BYU Folk Dance Ensemble is acclaimed by thousands for their skillful dancing and energy.

Join Ruth and Boaz, Jacob and Leah, Adam and Eve, and let’s have a conversation together. A new play by Eric Samuelsen.

Our Sweet Season is new this year. For the first two nights of each show only, you can enjoy a decadent dessert beforehand. Most nights, the director will drop in as well, to give you extra insights into the night’s performance. Come early (7 p.m.), reserve your seat in the theater, and then relax and enjoy your delicious dessert in the Covey Center Occasional Cafe.

On Friday, March 11, the Utah Premiere Brass, conducted by Dr. Kirt Saville, will perform a concert of inspirational and majestic music entitled "Stained Glass And Stone" as a tribute to the Provo Tabernacle.
When the Utah Premiere Brass began over a decade ago, UPB had the privilege of performing several times a year in the Provo Tabernacle. UPB's famous Essentially British I through VI series were all played at the beautiful tabernacle; as well as six years of holiday concerts and other programs entitled Encore, Concerto for Trumpet, Classical Treasures and Guilty Pleasures, and much more.
The fiery destruction of the Tabernacle on December 17, 2010 was devastating to UPB, as the bulk of their musical history was born there. "Everyone in our community has felt the tremendous sense of loss represented by the tragic fire and destruction of the Provo Tabernacle," said Dr. Kirt Saville. "How many wonderful music programs and performances have poured forth upon our community through the beauty and sanctity of this wonderful edifice."
The Utah Premiere Brass dedicates this concert, "Stained Stone and Glass, Provo Tabernacle, In Memoriam" to the innumerable musical and artistic events which were enhanced and embraced by this sacred edifice. Read more here

Held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on the first Friday of every month, this event is free to the public and often includes refreshments, guest artists and live music. Lifehouse Performing Arts Academy will present their annual fireside production "Be Thou an Example of the Believers" on February 26th, 2011. The show shares an uplifting message of faith and hope through music, dance and video presentations. One hundred and fifty dancers from the ages of 5-18 will participate. This year the show will also feature pianist Stephanie Lee, violinist Tim McClure and vocalist Layna Haymond.

The Covey Center is thrilled to present the art work of nationally acclaimed artist J. Kirk Richards. Richards' exhibition, located in the Eccles Gallery of the Covey, features 15 original oil paintings, as well as a series of plaster sculptures. Richards said the sculptures and figure paintings “are about the dichotomy that exists in all of us between our spiritual and physical nature.”
Richards' work is mostly found in private collections across the country. Select local public collections include the LDS Church's Museum of History and Art, in Salt Lake; the Springville Art Museum; and the Orem Library.
Richard's exhibit is being presented in conjunction with the Lyric Opera ensemble performance of Madame Butterfly.
