Angie Lofthouse has published a dozen sci-fi and fantasy short stories in such publications as NFG, AlienSkin, Amazing Journeys, The Sword Review, Dragons, Knights and Angels, Irreantum, and Unparalleled Journeys. She is an editor for Mindflights Magazine. Her sci-fi adventure novel, Defenders of the Covenant, will be out in March 2012.

She lives in a little canyon in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains with her family of writers, artists, singers, composers, illustrators and musicians.

She is a monthly TV contributor on KSL’s “Studio 5” and regular blogger for LDSLiving online. She is a former TV and radio host, and columnist for Deseret News and Utah Valley Magazine. Mrs. Sokol is the author of Faithful, Fit & Fabulous, Life is Too Short for One Hair Color, and Life is Too Short for Sensible Shoes, as well as talk CDs and podcasts. Mrs. Sokol marinates in time spent with her family and eating decadent treats.

The library will participate in the In-N-Out Burger "Cover to Cover Club" Reading Program for children ages 4 to 12. Children who are too young to read may participate by having books read to them by their parent or guardian. 


Register at the Front Desk to receive a reading log and check out books at their reading level.


The "Cover to Cover Club" achievement award is good for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at any In-N-Out Burger. Children may receive up to three award certificates, while supplies last.

Kick off the official start of autumn at Thanksgiving Point by celebrating at the 2nd Annual Harvest Festival. Guests are invited to peruse locally-harvested fruits and vegetables and shop for locally-made products.

Friday evening a Quick Draw (timed painting) competition will delight the crowds while artists race to make a masterpiece in 90 minutes.

On Saturday, community favorite Utah’s Giant Pumpkin Growers will bring their year’s biggest and best pumpkins to be weighed and judged in the U.G.P.G 8th Annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off. Last year’s winner set a new state record- spectators will watch in suspense to see it happen again. Live music on Friday and Saturday, as well as themed crafts on Saturday are sure to create a memorable atmosphere.
