Howard and Kathryn Little will be directing this production of Agatha Christie's classic mystery "And Then There Were None", which tells the story of ten guests who are lured to an island by an apparently absent host and hostess. At dinner, a mysterious voice accuses each of them of having gotten away with murder. Shortly thereafter, one drops dead from poison and one of ten solider figurines is ominously missing from the dining room table. One down and nine to go! Can the mystery be solved before there are none remaining?

8 adult men and 3 adult women are needed. The auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No appointment necessary.

Performance dates are Oct 8-25 on Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings. The will also be a Saturday matinee on October 23.

The Riverton Arts Council is honored to present the Western Regional Premiere of HAIRSPRAY, BROADWAY’S BIG FAT MUSICAL-COMEDY. Based on the 1988 John Waters film, audiences will journey back to 1960’s Baltimore and join our heroine Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big dreams and even bigger hair. She’ll do whatever it takes to claim a spot on a popular television dance show, win the heart of Link Larkin, and turn the town upside down in her efforts to racially integrate television.

I saw Once on this Island

Tonight, I went to the production of Once on this Island.

Here is Lisa's cast bio:

Lisa is talented and has a beautiful voice. Her performance tonight absolutely blew me away. She was amazing!! Such power and emotion. A powerhouse during the song "Pray"

I felt her character's emotions: joy for a child, love for her husband, concern for her hubbie's safety, frustration with her daughter, unconditional and everpresent love for her daughter, and her sorrow and pain. My emotions seldom are engaged, when watching a play/movie/musical, so this was a roller coaster ride for me. One that I would ride again.

My favorite number of the musical was when TiMoune encounters the goddess Asaka, who tells her not to fear, as the Earth will give her everything she needs on her journey to Daniel ("Mama Will Provide"). There were "frogs" that hopped around flicking their tongues. It was funny! The Goddess Asaka was played by Kate Daly -I think Jake and I saw her perform previously as Kate in the Taming of the Shrew at the Hale Center Theatre.

The last performances are Friday and Saturday.

Once on This Island!

My friend, Lisa Frost, is in the Lehi City Arts Council's production of "Once On This Island!"

A little peek into the plot: All the cast members are storytellers; storytellers who join together during an Island storm to calm a small child, and together enact the tale of TiMoune, a young girl rescued from a flood by gods who seem to have planned a special destiny for her. TiMoune is adopted by caring parents and raised in a peasant village which is socially separate from the rich city behind gates on the other side of the island. TiMoune grows into adulthood wishing for more in her life than the peasant life she knows and entreats the gods of Water, Earth, Love and Death to help her begin her destiny. The God of Water devises a plan by which she meets a boy from the wealthy caste forbidden to her," and the story begins...(synopsis taken from lyricsondemand.com)

Lisa will be playing Mama Euralie, the mother of the lead character. This has been a huge dream come true for her. Woo hoo! I'm proud of her for making her dream a reality and (Dang it! I'm getting teary eyed) I'm so excited to watch her perform.
