ZOOLIGHTS!


Until December 31st
(Closed Christmas Day)

Sunday - Thursday... 5 to 8 pm (grounds close at 9)
Friday - Saturday....... 5 to 9 pm (grounds close at 10)


Where wildlife meets wild lights!  ZooLights! returns to Hogle Zoo this holiday season with more sparkling lights, over 250 animated light displays and more nightly fun than ever before! View glittering animated animals made out of lights, warm up under heaters and enjoy a hot chocolate and deep fried s'more along the way.  Take a ride on the Conservation Carousel (weather permitting) and then stop in to see Santa in EdZoocation Station!  Stop into the Wild Zootique to finish your holiday shopping and pick up some hologram glasses to see the lights as never before.

Keeper Camp

$100 per child (10 % discount for members)

Do you dream about animals? Do you think measuring, scrubbing, sweeping and interacting with wild animals are good ways to spend your day? Have you always wanted to be a zookeeper? Well, here is your chance to see if you have what it takes. Come to the Zoo for a hands-on, behind the scenes, fun-filled day. Participants will spend their day with a staff member preparing animal diets, cleaning exhibits and creating enrichment for some of our animals. We will provide lunch, a T-shirt and a Keeper-tastic time!

Restrictions: 


  • Participants must submit a current(within three months of camp date) and certified negative TB test two weeks prior to camp. Please download and complete this form.

  • Participants must wear weather appropriate clothing and shoes that can get dirty and wet. Shoes must have closed toes and heels must be covered.

  • Due to the nature of the program each camp is limited to 4 participants (Min 2 people).

    Practice your turkey calls for this fall class. We’ll soar through the wonderful world of birds as we focus our attention favorite feathered friend of the season and his winged cousins!

    Each program features theme animals with guided tours, art activities, songs, snacks and special experiences. Adults attend with children ages 3-5.

    • Children registered for the Pre-K sessions must be age 3 by the date the class session begins.

    Enchanted Evening Explorations

    Do you enjoy things that go bump in the night?  What about the things that hoot, howl or hiss?  This year, celebrate Halloween with your friends at the Zoo!  You’ll enjoy a guided tour of the Zoo after dark, and a special encounter with Spiderella and her favorite creepy crawly critters.  Please come in costume for some frightful fun for all ages. Tour begins promptly at 7:30.

    Reptile and Amphibian Study Merit Badge

    Tuesday, October 26

    $15 per scout; Leaders FREE

    Some are slippery, some are slimy; few are scary. Learn more about reptiles and amphibians and get to know a few in person as you work on your merit badge. We will finish requirements 1-7, 9b and 10. We recommend that scouts do requirement 8b to complete their badge.
    • Scout group leader ratio standards apply (1:6)
    • No unregistered children
    • Private Scout classes can also be arranged for groups of at least 10.
