PICTURE YOURSELF IN A NATIONAL PARK this April 21 - 29 as America celebrates National Park Week –– a chance to hike, learn, share, and give back in the nation’s 397 national parks. Each year, we take this time to celebrate what we all have inherited as Americans – 84 million acres of the world’s most spectacular scenery, historic landmarks and cultural treasures.

Whether it is your first trip, or the latest of many memorable park experiences, National Park Week is a chance for all Americans to get active while experiencing the amazing places that make up the national park system for FREE. nps.gov is the official website for the National Park Service. Thanks for posting this! Also, you can buy an ANNUAL PASS to all 397 of those park sites for $80. The pass expires on the last day of the month in which you bought it. So...if you were to buy that pass, say...on May 1st 2012, it wouldn't expire until May 31st, 2013. You would actually have access to all 397 park service sites for THIRTEEN months, rather than the twelve months. Two people can sign the pass (and they often ask for picture ID), but as long as one of you is in the vehicle or in your group as you stop at the entrance station/front desk, everyone in your car gets in free!
