Everyone age 2 and older must have a ticket and young children must be accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian. 


Because of fire code, strollers are not permitted in the theatre and should be left in your car.  We do not have enough space in the lobby to "park" strollers.  Thank you for understanding. 

Dinosnorzzzz

A museum sleep over, Dinosnorzzz gives you the chance to sleep under the belly of your favorite dinosaur, tour exhibits, participate in a series of paleontology classes, enjoy snacks, breakfast, and a Mammoth Screen movie viewing.

FAMILY DAY HIKE & BREAKFAST

June 4th is "National Trails Day"! Pleasant Grove Recreation will celebrate the day with their 10th Annual Family Day Hike & Breakfast.  A free light breakfast will be served at the pavilion from at 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., or as long as there is food!  After breakfast you can enjoy a short hike up the Battlecreek Trail enjoying games and activities along the way.  The hike and activities will end at the Battlecreek Falls, approximately one mile round trip hike.

If individuals and families pre-register before, Friday, June 3rd you will be entered into a drawing that will be held at the hike.  To pre-register you can call the Community Center at 801-785-6172 or click here to register online.  So put on your hiking shoes and let's go for a hike!

Summer Monday Movies

     Monday Movies at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Movies are held downstairs in the theater at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Seats are first come basis. Doors will open 10 minutes before the show starts. Registration is not required. Bring your own treats. Everyone is asked to pick up trash and help keep the room clean.

June 6th - A Little Princess    (97 min.)

The story opens in New York just before the outbreak of World War I, when young Sara is enrolled in private boarding school while her father goes off to war. Under the domineering scrutiny of the school's wicked headmistress, Miss Minchen, Sara quickly becomes popular with her schoolmates, but fate intervenes and she soon faces a stern reversal of fortune, resorting to wild flights of fancy to cope with an unexpectedly harsh reality.

A 78- year-old curmudgeon, he enjoyed his modest life as a balloon seller because he shared it with his adventurous wife Ellie . But she died, leaving him with memories and the awareness that they never made their dream journey to Paradise Falls in South America. When well-meaning officials consign Carl to Shady Oaks Retirement Home, he rigs thousands of helium balloons to his house and floats to South America. The journey's scarcely begun when he discovers a stowaway: Russell, a chubby, maladroit Wilderness Explorer Scout who's out to earn his Elderly Assistance Badge.

A young boy moves to a new place where he feels isolated and is bullied by his peers. Through an unlikely relationship with an adult, the boy not only learns to protect himself through martial arts, but develops the much more important qualities of respect and the mastery of one's own mind and body. 







June 27th - Around the World in 80 Days    (120 min.)
The 2004 version of Around the World in 80 Days is an entertaining hodge-podge of adventure, comedy, and scenery from across the globe. Phileas Fogg , an obsessively precise inventor, bets that he can circumnavigate the planet in 80 days--considered impossible in the Victorian era. In this version, Jackie Chan plays a Chinese peasant who retrieves a stolen idol from the Bank of England, then convinces Fogg to hire him as a French valet so that Chan can get back to his village.

 July 11th - Mulan    (88 min.)

When the Huns attack China, a call to arms goes out to every village, and Mulan's father, being the only man in the family, accepts the call. Mulan has just made a disastrous appearance at the Matchmaker and decides to challenge society's expectations (being a bride). She steals her father's conscription notice, cuts her hair, and impersonates a man to join the army. She goes to boot camp, learning to fit in with the other soldiers with some help from her sidekick, Mushu, a wise-cracking dragon. She trains, and soon faces the Huns eye-to-eye to protect her Emperor.

 July 18th - Chronicles of Narnia- The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe    (143 min.)

The four Pevensie children, Lucy, Peter, Edmund, and Susan, and their adventures in the mystical world of Narnia. Sent to the British countryside for their own safety during the blitz of World War II, they discover an entryway into a mystical world through an old wardrobe. The arrival of the children gives the creatures of Narnia hope for liberation.

Concert in the Park

On June 5th, the Pleasant Grove Orchestra will present a free concert in the park. The concert will be at 7:30, outside the rec center. If it's raining, we'll take the music indoors. Come hear all your favorite Broadway tunes from Guys & Dolls to The King and I, Porgy and Bess to Lord of the Dance. We're a small group and we would love to have you come support your local arts!

Don Olsen: Abstracts from Nature

The exhibition Don Olsen: Abstracts from Nature, on view in the G.W. Anderson Family Great Hall, celebrates the 100th birthday of abstract artist Don Olsen (1910-1983). Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Olsen's work was misunderstood because it represented a style unfamiliar to Utah audiences.

Today, however, he is acknowledged as one of the most influential and gifted abstract artists to have worked in the region.  A student of Hans Hoffmann, Olsen created abstract expressionist works using volume, color, and shapes taken from nature.
