Th e drama begins with objects that emerge from our magic story trunk.  All the activities will engage voice, body, and imagination.

Students will work with UVU's professional theatre sta as they apply makeup, paint ats, and make props that they can take home with them.

Exploring Storytelling (Grades 3 thru 6)

Young people will listen and learn from master storytellers who will help students create and tell stories alone, in pairs, and as a group.

Exploring Puppetry (Grades 3 thru 6)

Students will construct simple puppets from sacks, socks, and plush animals and learn how to bring them to life.

With one of the most recognizable works of 20th century art in its backyard, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts presents an exhibit exploring the creative influence of Roberts Smithson on a generation of contemporary artists.

 Robert Smithson's famous earthwork Spiral Jetty (April 1970) is located in the north arm on the Great Salt Lake in Utah.

Visiting Spiral Jetty is a new experience each time, in every phase of its submersion and re-emergence. The wind alters the intensity of the water’s changing colors, as does the quality of the light and the density of the overhead cloud-cover. As you start to walk the spiral, you enter a kaleidoscope of moaning wind, relentless light, and mercurial water colors.

Using black basalt rocks and earth from the site, the artist created a coil 1500 feet long and 15 feet wide that stretches out counterclockwise into the translucent red water.

Walking the length of the jetty is not difficult. The surface is rocky and uneven, but not hard to walk on. It merely requires your attention. It is a good idea to wear shoes that you can wade in.

The lake level varies several feet from year-to-year and from season to season, so the Spiral Jetty is not always visible above the water line. Typically, the Great Salt Lake is at its lowest levels in October and November of each year. Visit the USGS web page to get the current elevation of the Great Salt Lake.To view the jetty lake elevation should be no higher that 4,197 feet.

First Choice Home Health and Hospice is excited to invite you to "Wings Of Love" our Second Annual Live Butterfly Release. Please join us in the Southwest Pavilion at the Orem Community Park.

This is an opportunity to honor the memory of your loved one by watching the release of live butterflies. This event is open to everyone and will include a short program with poetry and music before the release of the butterflies. Please invite your family and friends.

If you wish to release a butterfly they are available for purchase at a special price of $10.00 (prepayment is suggested to guarantee a butterfly)

Native American Legend states: "Whisper a thought to a butterfly, and she will carry that message to the heavens."

Sheer-Luck Holmes: Clueless Again

Sherlock Holmes is known for his brilliant detective work and for being a master of disguise, but when it comes to the Desert Star Theatre version of the character, it may not be his signature logical reasoning that solves the cases, but sheer luck.

"Sheer-Luck Holmes: Clueless Again" runs through June 11 at the Desert Star Playhouse in Murray, and it's a show that encompasses the traditional Holmes as well as the newer character depicted in the 2009 film.
