To Kill a Mockingbird

May 6 - Jun. 19

Intended as a "simple love story," Harper Lee's book and its stage adaptation are indeed about the love between a tomboy, Scout, and her friend, Dill. But this quintessential American story explores different types of love on a much broader and deeper level: familial love, neighborly love, the love of honor, duty and goodness, along with the knowledge that in the end, love will triumph over cruelty and hatred. This is a play that should be seen and revisited time after glorious time.

"Hard Times" features memorable and telling images by some of the best contemporary social realist artists in America. Each work in the show represents the artists' responses to the economic and social challenges of today's society.

This display shows how 16 American realists have responded to our country’s worst economic meltdown since the Great Depression. Dr. Vern G. Swanson, director of Utah’s Springville Museum of Art, notes that “Impending doom has cast an encroaching shadow upon the economic landscape and appears to be a harbinger for future want and depression.” This art exhibit portrays the feelings of this "shadow" covering the nation and allows the viewers of the art to create an emotional connection with not just the artist, but with the subject matter.

Artists include Mario Andres Robinson, Max Ginsburg, Burton Silverman, Harvey Dinnerstein, Warren Chang, Gary Ernest Smith, Trevor Southey, Steven Assael, Jeffrey Hein, Garin Baker, Sean Diediker, David Jon Kassan, David Linn, Mary Beth McKenzie, Denis Peterson, and Justin Taylor.

Once Upon a Mattress

If you thought you knew the story of "The Princess and The Pea," this nutty and charming retelling is a musical comedy gem! Did you know that Princess Winnifred actually swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larken's love for Sir Harry provided a rather compelling reason that she reach the bridal altar post haste? Or that it wasn't the pea at all that caused the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of wonderfully witty songs and delightfully brilliant lyrics, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar classic of royal courtship and comeuppance provides for some side-splitting shenanigans.

A Chosen Generation

A non-denominational musical fireside perfect for youth and church groups, families and individuals, this inspirational program focuses on both the blessings and great responsibilities held by those living in what prophets and world leaders have labeled the “latter days.” While using 1 Peter 2:9 as its framework, which states, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,” the evening focuses on how true witnesses of Christ stand apart from their peers, as a light on a hill. With songs like “One Voice,” “Mind of My Own,” "Safe Harbors" and “All Time, All Things, All Places,” and quotes from both religious, political, and contemporary leaders, this beautiful evening serves as a reminder both to the rising generation as well as those who love and know them, that we live in a precarious time, yet the values, faith, and courage to stand for what we believe and know are as vital as ever. The fireside is presented by members of SCERA Youth Theatre's award-winning high school performance team, Acting Up!

Don't miss The Great Puppet Follies, a puppet variety show featuring performances by puppeteers from all over the state of Utah.

We are also pleased to announce that our headline performer will be The Stringman, Freddie Spencer. Freddie has been a professional puppeteer and creator of puppets for more than 50 years. He worked for Sid and Marty Kroft on the television shows H.R. Puff N’ Stuff, Sigmund and the Sea Monsters, and Land of the Lost. In addition, Freddie opened his own live action special effects company, Image Creators, and worked on such films as Beetlejuice, Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Team America, World Police.

Townhome for Rent or Sale

Hello neighbors.

We are sorry to say that the Felt Family is being moved to Florida. We are going to miss this neighborhood so very much. Our friends here have just been so wonderful to us and we are sorry to leave you all behind.

We would like very much to rent our townhouse out rather than try to sell it. If you know anyone interested, please forward the information. We would be so grateful.

Thank you all so much!
