  • In this special habitat, an acrylic window and dramatic vantage points will offer guests nose-to-beak viewing as penguins splash, dive and “fly” underwater.
  • Other close encounters involve watching the busy birds preen, squabble over territory, build nesting sites and scramble over rocky shores. The exhibit will also include a waterfall and cozy (for penguins), 45F degree water, where the penguins will splash, frolic and play!

The footies in all of L's jammies ripped open, and my usual Go To stores for sleepers have put them away for the winter in preparation for spring.  Bummer!  I stopped at Babies R Us to get some child proofing items. Seems like L is getting into everything these days.

I discovered that Babies R Us is having a clearance sale. I love Carter's clothes, and right now they are 50% off. I don't know if that's a good enough deal for you spectacular bargain shoppers, but it was a fabulous deal for me.

Spotlight - Michelle Denna

My name is Michelle Denna. I absolutely love the outdoors, volleyball, laughing, and anything that allows me to be creative! Tate and I were married 5 years ago this month, and are the parents of two wonderful boys; Cannon (4) and Lincoln (1).

I started blogging a few months ago, in an attempt to get myself organized in several areas that I have a particular interest in: is intended to help my family and I achieve 'emergency preparedness'. I am extremely passionate about this topic, and therefore seem to accumulate large amounts of information. This blog is used to help me sort and make sense of it all; from food storage to sanitation to everything else. is an ongoing list of ideas and activities to keep kids entertained. It is also intended for notes on parenting and helpful hints on child development; as both of my boys' unique characteristics have exposed me to several early intervention and development experiences. is simply my digital recipe book. I have developed a love for cooking, and am always on the lookout for new ideas. was created so I could document all of my ongoing crafty creations. It is a combination of layouts, designs and project how-to's; mostly what I use it for is to provide myself with new ideas and inspiration.

I believe amazing things happen when individuals become involved in what they are passionate about. In a way, doing this helps me feel like I've accomplished something. Mostly for myself, hopefully for others along the way...

Thanks for sharing your passion and creativity with the rest of us. I love your blogs!!

Pleasant Grove Recycling

Pleasant Grove City approved a Recycling Program in August, 2009 in an effort to encourage residents to participate in curbside recycling. Under the recycling program and in an effort to make it more convenient to take advantage of curbside recycling services, all customers using a rollaway garbage can will automatically be signed up to receive this recycling service. Nothing is required of you if you would like to receive this service.

The City will automatically sign you up to receive the service and will bill you $5.90 per month for curbside recycling pick up every other week. The recycling program will not start until Spring 2010. This will give Allied Waste time to order the needed recycling bins and deliver them to the customers.

If you do not want to receive curbside recycling services, you must come into City Hall (70 South 100 East) and fill out an “Opt Out” form. This must be done in writing by February 16, 2010. Emails or phone calls will not be accepted.

Once in the program, you cannot opt out. If you choose to opt out initially, and later change your mind, you can opt in at any time Pleasant Grove City would like to encourage residents to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment by recycling.
